What you'll do
Hola amigos
After meeting in the morning at Cafe Boicot in Roma Norte, we will head south of Mexico City until we reach Cuernavaca city, which is better know as “The City of Eternal Spring”, a destination that has warm weather that attracts visitors at any time of the year. Once in Cuernavaca we will begin a panoramic tour to admire the colonial-style buildings and the beautiful squares of the historic city center.
We will stop at the Cathedral of Cuernavaca founded by the first Franciscan friars who arrived in Mexico and considered one of the oldest cathedrals in America and at the Palacio de Cortés, former residence of the conqueror Hernán Cortés that today houses the Cauhnáhuac Museum and protects history from the state of Morelos.
After taking many photos and explore this historic place, we are ready to continue the tour heading to Taxco, a colonial miner city. It is located on a hill with winding cobblestone streets and cozy squares. Touring its historic center we will be captivated by the viceregal aspect of Taxco, whose palaces, squares, alleys, and old buildings suggest that time has not passed there.
During the tour, we'll learn about the process to extract silver from the earth and how to identify silver's quality, also we will visit the temple of Santa Prisca, one of the largest churches in Mexico. In addition, this temple is home to the biggest Virge de Guadalupe made of pure silver in the world. And finally, we will visit the artisan workshop of the artisans who made the sculpture.
After all these activities, we will have free time for lunch and tour the city center at our own pace.
Finally, after have a very good time and before sunset, it's time to go home.
